Every March the Armstrong clan heads to Palm Dessert, CA, not to escape the oh so cold winters or the crowds of people that flood the freeways in Southern Californis, but to enjoy the warmth of the sun and of course our favorite tennis stars! Fred, Rogers dad, really knows how to spoil the family. We have great seats! It's fun listening to the players pump themselves up in what ever language they are speaking. You might even get the chance to hand a stray ball back to the ball kids or even the player.

Roger and I had the chance to enjoy two weekends of tennis this year. The first weekend has the most action. We are able to hop from stadium to stadium, court to court to see some of our favorite players & even the rising stars. A day of tennis is a Full day of tennis. It starts usually around 11am and might end at 11pm. It is a blast! I family trip that everyone looks forward to.
The second weekend is the Finals. The days aren't as long but they are sure filled with excitement! We saw the semi-finals and the finals of the women's and men's doubles, and also the men's and women's singles. The men's finals is always the most exciting. This year wasn't any different. For once an un-ranked player Marty Fish(USA) made it to the finals by beating out #1 in the world Roger Fedder. How does something like that happen? Fish obviously lost in the final match, but it was still a great one to watch.
Tennis weekend is always one that we look forward to. Fun in the sun & quality time spent with the family. Only a few more months until next year!
